J.R. Hipple   At-Large Member   J.R. Hipple has two decades of experience as an advisor to senior management. He is a problem solver and communications strategist who has counseled executives and managers on a variety of public relations and change management communications. His clients have included leaders like Nextel, Corning, AT&T Wireless affiliate SunCom, Wyeth/Advil, The University of Virginia, ITT Industries, Proctor Silex/Hamilton Beach, Yamaha, and CTIA (Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association), Bon Secours Health System and the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. Hipple has held positions as president and co-founder of one of the nation's top 30 public relations firms, managing director of public relations for a division of Lintas, and executive director of a non profit agency. He is a recipient of a Silver Anvil and a Bronze Anvil from PRSA, SABRE Awards and PRWeek Awards. Hipple is a member of the board of directors of the Southern Institute for Business and Professional Ethics and The Community Foundation Serving Richmond & Central Virginia. He earned a B.S. in marketing from Miami University (Ohio) and an M.S. in public relations from Boston University, where he served as an intern to Edward L. Bernays.
